About

Often, we are at war with our thoughts and feelings, constantly resisting them and trying to get rid of difficult ones and have more pleasurable ones instead. This war is futile and while we’re caught up in that struggle, life just passes us by.

U-Parallel with Emmet is on a mission to teach practical skills and useful tools for optimum mental, emotional and physical health using Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).  ACT is about liberating your mind and helping you to move in a life direction with intention, to be who you want to be without shame or suffering.

I’m a psychologist with a portfolio career working privately and within organisations over the last 15 years.  I offer private online therapy and coaching, and also organisational training.  Trained in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy which has been approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS), I also have a BPS accredited MSc degree in Organisational Psychology.  I chose to set up U-Parallel to reach as many people as possible with ACT to provide a service that is down to earth, wholehearted, caring, flexible, and confidential.  My own personal story and lived experiences is what drives me to do the work I do in psychology to help others build a better life.  I practice ACT on myself every day and it has helped me to transform my own mind and improve my life.  I see freedom as being our most important human value and when we’re not free either physically or mentally, we will inevitably suffer. During my time on this planet I want to make a significant difference to those who are ready to find their freedom and make a change in their life, either personally or professionally.
